Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the rondre application and any related services operated by rondre, Inh. Andreas Krause, Zechenstr. 5, 51103 Cologne, Germany (hereinafter "rondre", "we", "us", or "our"). "Service" refers collectively to the rondre mobile app (iOS, Android) and any web-based version of rondre, wherever available. By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance and Changes
1.1 By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to these Terms.
1.2 We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated within the Service or by email if you have linked one. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of the Service
2.1 rondre is a personal finance tracking service available as a mobile app (iOS and Android) and, where available, as a web application. It allows you to record income and expenses, organize transactions into categories with custom search terms, upload CSV files and PDF bank statements for automatic processing, share financial books with other users, and optionally customize your profile with a display name and profile image.
2.2 The core features of rondre are available free of charge. Optional Supporter Subscriptions are available as voluntary contributions to support the development of the Service and unlock higher usage limits (see Section 7). Usage limits apply depending on whether you hold an active Supporter Subscription.
2.3 rondre does not provide financial advice, tax advice, or investment recommendations. All data entered into the Service is for personal tracking purposes only.
3. Account and Device Identifier
3.1 No sign-up or login is required for the mobile app. When you first open rondre, a unique 25-character identifier is automatically generated and stored on your device. This identifier serves as your account ID. Where a web version of rondre is available, access is restricted to existing mobile app users who have linked a verified email address to their account. Web login is performed using your Profile ID and verified email — no new accounts can be created through the web.
3.2 You may optionally link an email address to your account for account recovery purposes. You are responsible for keeping your identifier, linked email, Share ID, and Share Password confidential. Do not share these credentials with untrusted parties.
3.3 If you lose access to your device and have not linked a verified email address, your data cannot be recovered.
4. Shared Books
4.1 The shared book feature allows multiple users to collaborate on the same financial book using a Share ID and Share Password. By sharing a book, you consent to all members viewing and modifying its contents.
4.2 rondre is not responsible for any actions taken by users you invite to a shared book. Deleting a shared book removes all data for all members permanently.
4.3 When you create a transaction in a shared book, your profile name and profile image (if set) are displayed alongside that transaction to all other members of the shared book.
5. User Content
5.1 All financial data, transaction names, categories, uploaded files, profile names, and profile images remain your property. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service's features.
5.2 You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any content you enter, upload, or set within the Service, including transaction names, CSV files, PDF bank statements, profile names, and profile images. You must not submit any content that contains malicious code, infringes third-party rights, or violates applicable law.
5.3 Profile names and profile images must comply with all applicable laws, in particular German law. You must not use a profile name or upload a profile image that:
- infringes the intellectual property rights of third parties (e.g. copyrights or trademarks);
- violates the right to one's own image of third parties (§ 22 KUG);
- constitutes illegal content under applicable law, including content that is pornographic, glorifies violence, or incites hatred; or
- is used to impersonate another person.
5.4 We reserve the right to remove any content — including profile names or profile images — that we become aware of as violating these Terms or applicable law, and to take further action as appropriate, including account suspension.
6. Acceptable Use
6.1 You agree to use the Service only for lawful personal finance tracking purposes. The following actions are prohibited:
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or modifying any part of the Service or its API.
- Accessing the Service's backend API by any means other than the official Service.
- Uploading malicious files or content designed to harm our systems.
- Uploading a profile image or setting a profile name that contains illegal content, infringes the rights of third parties, or violates applicable law.
- Attempting to circumvent any security measures.
- Using the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
6.2 We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
7. Supporter Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
7.1 The core features of rondre are available free of charge. Optionally, you may purchase a monthly Supporter Subscription as a voluntary financial contribution to support the ongoing development of the Service. The following subscription tiers are available:
- Small — €2.99 per month
- Medium — €4.99 per month
- Large — €9.99 per month
Prices are set in euros and may vary by country or region as determined by Apple. The exact price applicable to you is displayed before purchase within the App.
7.2 Usage limits. All accounts are subject to the following usage limits:
- Free accounts: up to 2 books, 7 categories per book, 3 PDF uploads and 3 CSV uploads per month per book.
- Supporter accounts: up to 5 books, 25 categories per book, 10 PDF uploads and 10 CSV uploads per month per book.
Limits are enforced both within the App and on our servers. When a free-tier limit is reached, the App will prompt you with the option to become a Supporter.
7.3 Billing and payment. All purchases are processed exclusively by Apple Inc. through the Apple App Store. rondre has no access to your payment information. The subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged upon confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.
7.4 Cancellation. You may cancel your Supporter Subscription at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Supporter status and access to Supporter limits until that date. After the period ends, your account reverts to free-tier limits. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of any amounts already charged.
7.5 Restore Purchases. If you reinstall the App or use it on a new device, you can restore your active subscription using the "Restore Purchases" function within the App. An active Apple ID with the original subscription is required.
7.6 Refunds. All refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple Inc. rondre does not process refunds. Please visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
7.7 Supporter Subscriptions are personal and non-transferable. The benefits apply exclusively to the account linked to your device at the time of purchase.
8. Availability and Modifications
We strive to keep rondre available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Unavoidable events such as maintenance, power outages, or hacking incidents may lead to temporary unavailability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. rondre does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components. rondre is a personal finance tracking tool and does not verify the accuracy of imported or uploaded financial data.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, rondre shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to access the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or financial loss.
Where you have purchased a Supporter Subscription, rondre's total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amounts paid by you for the Supporter Subscription in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Where the Service is used without a paid subscription, rondre's total liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
For EU consumers: These limitations do not affect statutory rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by rondre and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.
12. Termination
12.1 You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your data within the Service by deleting all books.
12.2 We may terminate or suspend your access for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
12.3 We reserve the right to delete inactive accounts and associated data (including books, transactions, categories, and uploaded files) if no app activity has been detected for at least six consecutive months. Accounts with an active Supporter Subscription are excluded from this automatic deletion for the duration of their active subscription. Books that have not been used for at least six months are candidates for deletion; a book will be deleted if it has no remaining member accounts, or if all of its members are on the free tier and have each been inactive for more than six months. A book is retained as long as at least one of its members holds an active Supporter Subscription or has used the Service recently.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law provisions and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Cologne, Germany.
For EU consumers: You retain all rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
14. App Store Distribution — Additional Terms
Depending on the platform through which you downloaded or use rondre, the following additional terms apply.
14.1 Apple App Store. If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge the following:
- These Terms are between you and rondre only, not with Apple Inc.
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranties for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for any product liability claims, legal compliance issues, or consumer protection claims relating to the App.
- In-App Purchases (Supporter Subscriptions) are processed exclusively by Apple Inc. through the Apple App Store billing system. All billing, subscription management, and refund requests are governed by Apple's terms and must be directed to Apple.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Your use of the App must comply with the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
14.2 Google Play Store. If you obtained the App through Google Play, you acknowledge the following:
- These Terms are between you and rondre only, not with Google LLC.
- Google is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Google has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranties for the App.
- Google is not responsible for any product liability claims, legal compliance issues, or consumer protection claims relating to the App.
- Your use of the App must comply with the Google Play Terms of Service.
